We're An Open Book (Hebrews 4:12,13)
We are an open book
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Heb 4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
In Hebrews 4:12,13 our lives are laid bare not only to the word of God but to God himself. The fact that the bible and our glorious God sees the intentions of the heart strikes fear and reverence into our hearts. But, it should also comfort us because God knows what is there even though we can't discern our own hearts. God knowing what is buried deep inside us is a comfort because He loves us too much to leave us the same but wants to change us into His glorious image (2 Cor 3:18). He does that by revealing things to us by the Holy Spirit and the word of God. Praise the Lord that God loves me enough to take time to reveal to me my inadequacies. May we let God have his perfect work in our lives. After all, we are an open book to God.
