Meditating on God's Word

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

The Hebrew word translated "meditate" means "to mutter." It was the practice of the Jews to read Scripture aloud and talk about it to themselves and to one another.

This verse shows us three things. A what, a when and Why. 1 What - Joshua is to meditate on God's word 2 When - day and night 3 Why - to obey, prosper and have success in doing God's will
