Why does God choose a man or woman with no props?
Why does God choose a man like Abraham or woman with no props?
1 So God receives the glory ~ 1 Corinthians 1:26-29 "For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence." ~ God chooses the man or woman through whom God can get the most glory
2 We also learn that God’s ways are not our way nor are his thoughts our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8,9) ~ Abraham had to learn that what seems like “common sense” decisions aren’t always godly decisions. ~ We too make decisions where the “common sense” decision may not be the decision God would have us to make.
3 God is faithful ~ We see with Abraham that he failed many times but God was faithful to his calling on Abraham’s life. ~ Abraham failed in many respects but at the end of the day what Abraham had going for him was “God is faithful.” ~ In all actuality the greatest thing the human race has going for it is God’s faithfulness.
