Deuteronomy 5:1 And Moses called all Israel and said to them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your ears this day, so that you may learn them and keep and do them.
5 times in the book of Deuteronomy Moses said, "Hear, O Israel." (Deut 5:1; 6:4; 9:1; 20:3; 27:9).
Notice these four words Moses mentions in our verse. Hear, Learn, Keep and Do. These four words describe what we do with the bible.
Look at the progression of these four words. It's not enough to hear, we must also learn. To learn isn't enough but we must also keep the word of God. Keeping the word isn't enough, we must also do it.
What if we look at these four words in the reverse order? We can't do what we haven't kept. We can't keep what we haven't learned. Finally, we can't learn what we haven't heard.
We know what to do with the bible...we hear, learn, keep and do it.
